- PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The “Promoting Cleantech Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Green Jobs in Mongolia (GCIP Mongolia)” project, jointly implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and executed by the Development Solutions NGO and the Climate Change Research and Cooperation Center (CCRCC) with financing from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), is being implemented based on the Clean Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (CIEE) concept.
The project aims to nurture cleantech startups, support their market entry, and enhance access to investment by strengthening national, regional, and international cooperation.
The project consists of the following three core components: 1) Transforming early-stage innovation cleantech solutions into commercial enterprises, 2) Cleantech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (CIEE) strengthening and connectivity and 3) Programme Coordination and Coherence.
Development Solutions NGO has been selected as the National Project Executing Entity (PEE) and is implementing the project in close cooperation with the Climate Change Research and Cooperation Center (CCRCC).
- GENERAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and the Environmental Manager, and in close coordination with the Project Management Unit (PMU), the Technical Expert shall provide continuous technical and implementation support for the day-to-day execution of the project. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Supporting the day-to-day implementation of project activities by providing timely technical inputs, advice, and hands-on support, as required by the PMU;
- Providing technical guidance to ensure that project activities are implemented in accordance with the approved Project Document, GCIP Framework, and applicable technical guidelines;
- Supporting the adaptation, application, and contextualization of GCIP methodologies, tools, and technical guidance to the Mongolian context;
- Provide technical support to consultants, trainers, mentors, judges, and service providers engaged under the project, while working closely with relevant government counterparts and key stakeholders to ensure technical quality, alignment, and consistency of outputs;
- Participating in project team meetings, technical coordination meetings, and internal implementation discussions, as required, and providing technical inputs and follow-up support;
- Contributing technical inputs to project documentation, technical notes, training materials, and implementation records;
- Supporting documentation of technical outputs, implementation progress, lessons learned, and emerging good practices;
- Supporting the Project Coordinator in identifying technical gaps, risks, or implementation challenges and proposing practical, solution-oriented recommendations;
- Supporting the collection, organization, and preliminary validation of technical data related to project outputs and enterprise-level results;
- Contributing technical inputs to internal progress updates, learning products, and knowledge materials, as requested;
- Carrying out other technical tasks relevant to project implementation, as assigned by Development Solutions.
- RESPONSIBILITIES

- QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor degree in project management, public policy, engineering, sciences, economics, business administration, international relations or other related fields;
- At least three (3)years of professional experience in technical cooperation project management. Extensive knowledge of cleantech, environment, financing, business development, and project management;
- Experience of working on similar assignments;
- Demonstrated track record of relevant work in the mentioned area (publications, project documents, reports);
- Excellent communication skill and presentation skills;
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Mongolian.
