Position: Project Officers (Ulaanbaatar-1, Darkhan-1)
Contract Duration: One year (with possible extension based on evaluation results)
Overview:
The Switching On the Green Economy (SOGE) project, lasting 1.5 years, aims to facilitate Mongolia’s transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient circular economy and support accelerated poverty reduction. Development Solutions (DS), People in Need (PIN), Mongolia Sustainable Finance Association (MSFA), and Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) offer unique technical expertise to assist MSMEs and retailers in adopting sustainable business models and support national efforts to establish and expand a fair and transparent system for green certification and eco-labelling.
About Development Solutions NGO:
Established in August 2008, Development Solutions is a Mongolian non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to improving community life, enhancing Mongolian business capacity, and supporting environmentally responsible social and economic growth through innovative, effective solutions. We achieve our mission by implementing programs and projects with support from donor organizations such as USAID, Oyu Tolgoi, KOICA, the Asia Foundation, and the UN.
Position Objective:
The Project Officer will work closely with program and operations teams from partner organizations to assist in the implementation of the SOGE project under the supervision of the Project Coordinator. The Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring timely and effective project implementation within the framework’s scope.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of project activities.
- Collaborate with partner organization teams.
- Ensure project timelines and goals are met.
- Provide regular updates to the Project Coordinator.
- Support capacity-building activities and business training.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Relevant experience in the SME sector is preferred.
- Experience in delivering capacity-building activities, including business training and consultations, is preferred.
- Good understanding of the business environment.
- Fluency in written and spoken English for Ulaanbaatar office, but intermediate English is enough for Darkhan officer.
